Inside Edge Innovation Challenge 2011
SQUAMISH, BC, September 12, 2011, - Inside Edge is excited to announce that we received an overwhelming response of great applications for this fall’s Innovation Challenge.
Inside Edge is excited to announce that we have selected the three finalists who will move on to the next phase of the contest as, the Howe Sound Women’s Centre, The Squamish Writers Club and The Squamish Climate Action Network (CAN-Farm).
On September 22nd from 6:30pm Inside Edge is presenting the first ever, Eagle’s Den (inspired by CBC’s popular “Dragon’s Den”) to pick the winning challenge. The Eagles Den will be hosted at The Squamish Adventure Centre, where the three finalists will present their challenge to a panel, inside edge members and interested community members. The three-person panel is made up of community member’s technologists and entrepreneurs from Squamish and beyond. The Eagles will hear presentations and then have a chance to ask questions in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. They will then have the difficult task of picking a winner.
Inside Edge would like to formally recognize all of the community groups who took the time to imagine and submit such great ideas to this year’s Innovation Challenge. Christine Bennett of Inside Edge says “There were no bad ideas, some were just better suited to the format of this particular Challenge.” As a group of volunteers, we can certainly appreciate the effort and volunteer time involved. For more information on the finalists and applicants, please visit the Inside Edge web site.
Interested parties who want to support and volunteer for the Innovation Challenge in October are encouraged to send an email to info@insideedgebc.org, keep an eye on the Inside Edge Web Site, Facebook page and local media for more details. The 2011 Innovation Challenge takes place on October 30th at Quest University.
