Hi, guys,
we are very fortunate to have Mark Grabowski on this coming monday to give a talk about Internet Governance: Who controls the Internet? Who should? How should we regulate the Web?
The talk will examine the differing philosophies on Internet governance, including regulations in China, Europe and the U.S. We'll discuss the international conflicts that often emerge due to the Internet being a virtual, borderless territory. And we'll cover why it's important for society and business to have an international agreement on Internet laws.
Bio:
Mark Grabowski is a professor at Adelphi University in New York, where he teaches internet law & ethics. His research has been published in books and academic journals, including Harvard's law journal. His publications have been translated into Korean and Romanian. He's been mentioned in The EconomistThe Guardian The Los Angeles Times and other media outlets. Previously, he worked as a journalist and as a lawyer.

What is the Inspirational Talk?
For those who are not familiar with the Inspirational Talk, the purpose of this event is to offer a venue where people can discuss different topics and ideas, while also having presentations from experienced speakers.
Who should attend?
Monday Inspirational Talk invites everybody who are interested in inspiring ideas to watch/discuss amazing and interesting videos and share their life stories/experience related to the topic. It is also a great place to meet new people from all over the world.
Everybody is welcome, but should know that all the Inspirational Talks are held in English, and if you would like to attend we strongly recommend that you have some proficiency in the English language to make the event more enjoyable for you.
If you would like to be a speaker, either for the Talk or Conference, please let us know :)
What kind of activities are included in the Inspirational Talk?
Every Inspirational Talk is centered around a speaker doing a presentation. After the presentation, a Q&A will follow where people will be able to directly ask questions to the speaker.
One of the other standard activities at the Salon is showing one or two videos with a follow-up discussion among the audience about the topic from the video.

710-750, Self intro + first half ( first video/Speaker with following Discussion)
750-810, Half time break
810-920, Second half (second video/Speaker with following discussion)

Where will the Inspirational Talk take place?
The Inspirational Talk will take place at C3 Cafe. The Cafe is located very close to Metro stations Xintiandi (line 10) and Madang Road (line 9) with a walking distance of about 5 minutes.
Does it cost anything to attend?

For new 2014 year, we will do membership system for our regular attendees as we want to grow a TED community here and make it slightly more formal.
For single entry
50rmb per person with RSVP, including a drink.
70rmb per person without RSVP at the door, including a drink
