Come and join James Brown Professional Opportunist for an evening of magic by misdirection. During this exciting and fun filled evening James will take you on a journey into how magicians have deceived the masses for centuries and performed the seemingly impossible - all by controlling attention. James will pull back the curtain on this most secretive world. Through demonstration and explanation James will open your minds to how magicians control your attention and prove once and for all that seeing is not believing! Just remember… even his explanations might just be elaborate misdirection
James Brown – Professional Opportunist has spent the past 20 years perfecting his skills as a world class magician, pickpocket and hypnotist.
After leaving university in Southampton James began a career in psychiatry in Bournemouth and spent several years developing his understanding of psychology and human behaviour.
During this time James became fascinated with perceptional psychology – the way in which people perceive the reality around them and the ease in which they are deceived and manipulated. After seeing a close up magician performing on television James started to look closer at the similarities between magic and psychology.
From this he branched out into performing close up magic for weddings, private functions and corporate events all the while fine tuning his skills as a magician & theatrical pickpocket. James quickly gained the respect of fellow magicians from around the world and the title of the Master of Misdirection.
His unique blend of sensory deception, sleight of hand and con artistry soon made James one of the most sought after performers of both close up and cabaret entertainment in the UK. Probably the first to combine contemporary sleight of hand magic with theatrical pickpocketing and suggestion hypnosis – and still the best! In recognition, the world famous Magic Circle awarded him the title of The Best Close Up Magician in the UK, a trophy he is quietly very proud of.
With numerous best selling instructional DVD's on the subject of performance magic James has always been in demand for his teaching skills. His DVD's have set the industry standard for live performance.
His work life is divided between consulting on performance and confidence for such institutes as Imperial College London, performing his breathtaking sleight of hand and close up/cabaret magic at private and corporate events and teaching hypnotherapists advance hypnosis skills. Whatever time is left is spent with his beautiful wife Jo and his two sons Ben and Charlie by the seaside on the south coast of England.

Food and drinks: Please feel free to bring in your own drinks, refreshments are not provided. Please however refrain from bringing in food.
Cancelling tickets and refunds: If you are no longer able to attend an event for any reason, then please change your RSVP to “not going”. Processing refunds costs us both money in the way of Paypal fees. Therefore it is much better to credit you onto another talk (where spaces are available).

Interesting Talks London was set up in 2011 by Matt Kendall.
At each event we have an invited speaker to come and talk about a topic their choice. The topics include hypnosis, NLP, business, persuasion, negotiation skills, self development and even magic.
The events are always in Central London and after the talk there is chance to chat and network with all the attendees in a pub. If you are interested in business and psychology and also enjoy meeting like minded people, then this group is for you.
Please take some time to look through the past events and also the group reviews.
All the events tend to sell out, so join today and book up.
Here are some reasons why you might not attend;
1) You don't want to come on your own.
Over 90% of the people who attend Interesting Talks come on their own and are looking to meet new people. This is as much a place to meet people as it is to hear great talks.
I will ensure that from as soon as you arrive you will feel welcome. I set people topics to actually talk about before the speaker comes on too. Let me break the awkward silence for you!
2) You don't want the hard sell for products and/or services.
I hate hard sell events. If an event is free, it will probably end up costing you something!
At Interesting Talks, the majority of the speakers have a book, product or service of some kind in relation to the subject they are speaking about. At the end of their talk they may give you a bit of information about whatever this is, however this is no hard sell of any kind.
So don't worry, if you don't want to further your relationship with the speakers, there is no pressure to do so.
3) You are a single girl and not sure if you should come on your own.
I have worked hard to make Interesting Talks a very safe environment for women to attend. Probably 60%+ of those attend are women. Please see the feedback in the group reviews and individual events to see what they have to say.
We have so many great talks lined up for you. So go ahead and get booking.
