Join a 6 week Beginning/Intermediate NVC Practice Group: Aliso Viejo
Details
Join a beginning to intermediate Nonviolent Communication practice group to meet every other week for six sessions starting on a Tuesday. I'm looking for at least six people to sign up for the series in order to host it, and I'm requesting $120 for the series--scholarships available. Please RSVP (james.prieto@compassionateconnecting.com) to reserve your spot and get directions.
The basic agenda would include the basics of NVC, combined with real life material. I like to balance structured learning while following the energy of the group, and by frequent practice and exercises. My experience is that the best learning happens when people bring their own life situations to class as source material. The agenda is often shaped by the requests of participants and the energy of participants. Here's a draft agenda for the series:
What is NVC, and why do we care? Awareness of the many important differentiations: Observations vs. Evaluations Feelings vs. Thoughts Needs vs. Strategies Requests vs. Demands Empathy vs. Sympathy Protection vs. Punitive Force Shift vs. Compromise Jackal vs. Giraffe Consciousness Self-Empathy to Support Self-Connection Empathic Listening vs. Intellectual Listening Honest Expression, even when it's scary Role Playing as a "Jackal" and "Giraffe" Conflict Resolution Don't forget to RSVP (james.prieto@compassionateconnecting.com) to reserve your spot and get directions.
Joyfully,
James Prieto (james.prieto@compassionateconnecting.com)
