Details
Friends! This month we're being hosted by Canonical. Ubuntu has an increasing reach into IoT devices and a fascinating position of established developers, open standards adherence and community oriented commercial success.

The meeting will start at 1830, so anyone who normally would be able to get to Kings Cross for 1800 will be able to get to Southwark by 1830. (My preferred route is via First Capital Connect in St Pancras to Blackfriars).
We'll talking, learning and demoing from the "father" of the BBC micro:bit and hearing about Ubuntu Core.

Talk 1: Howard Baker
Howard is lucky enough to spend his time looking at new technologies and ideas that impact learning and investigate them for BBC Learning. As lead of one of the teams looking at what the BBC could do in 2015 for digital creativity and coding he was responsible for developing the BBC micro:bit (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/4hVG2Br1W1LKCmw8nSm9WnQ/introducing-the-bbc-micro-bit) and is now working on its delivery.
His current interests include: Internet of Things, digital making, coding, physical computing, learning and the quantified self and how to help young people unleash their creativity in the 21st century.
Talk 2: Thibaut Rouffineau
Agile embedded development => more operational on the the importance of deployment!
The internet of revenue generating things => more visionary on enabling new business models through appstores, smart contracts...
