Longing to paint? Want to express your creativity in a supportive, group environment? This painting group will offer an opportunity for us to see what emerges.
A chance to breathe, listen, and paint.
This experimental, process painting group is primarily self-directed, yet gentle encouragement will be offered. You're invited to make your own discoveries. We will be working individually during the session and attempt to suspend our judgements and comparisons.
All materials provided (paper, brushes, Tempera paint). No experience necessary.
Located in my art studio within the American Steel Building in Oakland.
"What brings all of us to this place of desire, of awakening, of telling ourselves, "I must paint," stems from a fundamental urge to expand, to experience our lives more fully and authentically. The need to paint commences with a quiet prompting of the soul. Whenever you do say yes to genuine creative experience, you are also saying yes to the alluring possibilities of new life... you are saying yes to the awakening of your artist's soul."
~by Aviva Gold in her book"Painting from the Source"
This group offering is inspired by my own process as a painter for the last 6 years and studies/classes with Aviva Gold, Michele Cassou, Chris Zydel, Freddy Buchwalder, Charles Blockey, Michael Markowitz, and Lon Clark. Thank you to all.
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
