The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Catonsville will be offering two more "Introduction to Fab Lab" classes. The next classes will be on Monday June 20, 2011. This class is three hours and fifteen minutes long. One class on this day is 12:00pm to 3:15pm and the other is 4:00pm to 7:15 pm.

What is the cost?

The cost is $99.00 for Maryland Baltimore County residents and $104.00 for Maryland non-Baltimore County residents. The cost is approximately $149.00 for out of state students.

What should I bring?

You may want to bring paper, a few pens, and a USB flash drive to the class.

What will I learn in this class?

If you are taking one of the "Introduction to Fab Lab" classes, or are thinking about taking this class, below is a list of equipment on which you will receive training. You will also be trained on the software that is associated with the operation of these machines. You will learn the basics of how to design and create products using these machines, with the exception of the UPrint 3D printer, which uses 3 dimensional computer aided design (CAD) files for its input. The community college teaches separate 3D CAD classes in the CAD lab which is one floor above the Fab Lab.

LOCATION

The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Catonsville, at 800 South Rolling Road, Catonsville, MD 21228-5317, is located off of Interstate 95 at Exit 47B, about fifteen minutes south of Baltimore and one hour north of Washington, DC.

The Fab Lab is located in Building H, Room H145.

pARKING

Parking Lot 5 is next to Building H. Park only in the spaces with white lines. A shuttle bus service is available from distant parking lots during most business hours.
