Philip Ching is the Wednesday February 25, 2015 INCA meeting speaker. He will be speaking on software that facilitates the process of crafting patent claim language.

This client wants to know if there are US patents whose patent Claim section contains all his keywords, and he wants the answer within one hour of time.
Philip says he can meet this challenge in less than half an hour. Philip will give a demonstration of how this can be done. This presentation displays two advantages of this tool:

It allows the client to quickly find who the competitors are, what they do, and how they do it.

It helps the client in crafting his patent claim language by quickly viewing the patent Claim sentences used by the competitor.

Speaker Biography:
Dr. Philip W Ching has worked for four companies in the past, with positions ranging from Member of Technical Staff, to Senior Principal Engineer, to Chief Scientist. Dr. Ching, with his inventive ideas, is an expert in automated Requirement Management and automated IV&V process for large project control. Currently he is a Chief Technology Officer of Aplix Research, Inc conducting a project in big data and data analytics with the website http://www.Competitors.watch. It is a powerful research engine for scientists, engineers, inventors as well as IP professionals. For example, this web tool can facilitate the process of crafting patent Claim language by quickly displaying claim sentences used by the competitors. Dr. Ching’s passion is automation.
Dr. Ching also serves as an adjunct faculty in Cyber Security for the Johns Hopkins University. He has been teaching the following courses (JHU/EP): Web Security, Intrusion Detection, and Software Development in UNIX Environment. Dr. Ching has taught commercial UNIX training courses and Information Systems Security courses.
Dr. Ching holds a M.Sc. in computer science from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the Ohio State University.
