IoT Workshop - Contiki OS: Open Source Operating System for Embedded Devices

Details
Contiki OS is an operation system for constrained embedded devices (http://www.contiki-os.org) for Internet of Things.
During this workshop you can learn how to use Contiki-OS for programming Wireless Sensor Actuator Networks based on 6loWPAN-Transponders from http://www.osdomotics.com (Merkur-Board).
Internet of Things are becoming more and more important. Because this technology is based on constrained devices with low memory and low power we have to use new kinds of operating systems.
Contiki OS is one of the famous operating systems for embedded devices for internet of things. In this workshop we want to show you, how you can use Contiki OS in an IoT-device.
We will use again the Merkur-Board, a 6loWPAN transponder with integrated microcontroller, to create a wireless sensor and actuator network, this time based on Contiki OS.
START:
The workshop will start at 19:00 (sharp)
AGENDA:
• Welcome
• Introduction into Contiki-OS
• Short introduction of 6LoWPAN wireless sensor and actuator networks
• Short introduction into the Merkur-Boards
• HOWTO 6LoWPAN Sensor Network with Contiki OS
• Feedback
Please bring in:
• Your own Laptop
• If you have: your Merkur-Board and the USB-serial-adapter
• If you have no Merkur-Board or USB-serial-adapter, the you will get them for this workshop
A WiFi-Internet access will be available and offered from Stockwerk (http://www.stockwerk.co.at).
TRAINERS:
For optimal personal advising we will have several trainers.
Trainer: Harald Pichler (https://www.meetup.com/IoT-Vienna/members/134441962/) from OSDOMOTICS (http://www.osdomotics.com)
Trainer: Florian Schweikert
Trainer: Stefan Hupe
