We are a group dedicated to speaking Italian and learning as much as we can while eating and drinking ourselves into fluency! We are fortunate enough to have many native Italians joining us, who add a thoroughly authentic element to the meeting, and are fabulous and entertaining resources of Italian culture and dialogue (careful with your double consonants)!
We set aside a specific amount of time to ONLY speak Italian so that we can all be challenged and inspired to come out of our shells and brave the wonder that is the Italian language. While we have many fluent speakers, I am actually the beginner of the group and am just beginning to get up the guts to TRY speaking, so please DO NOT be afraid... JOIN US! ALL levels welcome and encouraged to come!
We bring our own wine, and for those who join us in bevendo vino, we split a corkage fee. It works out well and we all like sharing our own bottles of wine, so if you feel compelled, bring a bottle! (You can purchase wine from Vigilucci's, as well.)
Vigilucci's is very good to us. We like to show our appreciation for the staff and not fuss about when the food hits the table. We are there first to speak Italian, and second to eat. Accommodating a large group such as ours is not easy and we try to make it as painless as possible for our friends at Vigilucci's.
***PLEASE take notice that this meeting is held at the Vigilucci's PIZZERIA which is on PCH (101) in LEUCADIA next to the Pannikin and Robbie's. It is NOT at the fancy Vigilucci's on the corner of 1st and D.***
SPERO DI VEDERTI !!!
*** ATTENTION ***
Due to the extreme amount of fun we have chatting and drinking before ordering food, and because of the tendency for people to wander in anywhere between 7:00 and 8:00, it has been requested that we start the meeting at 6:00 and ORDER ALL FOOD AT 7:00. This will allow folks to relax a little more and not feel rushed to eat and get home. We've been having a fantastic time together!!! Read more
