In our last formal event of the year we will be blowing your minds once more.
It's rare that we have sessions that talk about process, but this time I think we have found something rather special...
This time, we feel honoured to have Durrell Bishop coming along to talk about an approach to designing products, services, systems and software. Durrell's thinking and approach can be applied to our work to reframe the complex challenges we have.
You may not have heard of Durrell, but he is one of the most respected designers in London. He featured in
Bill Moggridge's classic 'Designing Interactions' book (http://www.designinginteractions.com/interviews/DurrellBishop). Jack Schulze (ex Berg) recently called him a design genius and you may have seen some of his work, from the landmark interaction design that is the marble answering machine (http://vimeo.com/19930744) to his hand in the design of Berg's Little Printer and Cloudwash.
In his own words...
The talk
I would like to give a talk, from a personal point of view, about an approach to the design of products, software and services. I will show and discuss the experiments I have been doing over the years where I use objects from the physical world to help think about and design products and software. Perhaps if there is time we could also do a paper workshop based on this approach?
Work
Varied, mostly a cross between product design, software and interaction.
