Debate The Don and Tog's latest apple tear down
Details
Following the success of our reading and discussion session at IBM earlier in the year, we are going to be closing out the year by reading and discussing a recent article that has started to raise some debate on some areas of interaction design close to most of our day-to-day work.
The article in question is by Don 'The Don' Norman, one of the founding fathers of 'User Experience', and Bruce 'Tog' Tognazzini, one of the inspirations behind the Interaction Design Association. They have made some bold claims about apple giving design a bad name and how with the advent of touchscreen technology, the iPhone, and the rise of Flat design we've lost a lot of core principles of interaction design.
Please read the article here (http://www.fastcodesign.com/3053406/how-apple-is-giving-design-a-bad-name) before the event. And please be prepared to have opinions, voice them, change them and change others'.
If you have strong opinions and experience either way, and are happy being featured in a panel, please get in touch with a couple of sentences and we'll hold you a guest invite.
