ustwo - Monument Valley & Summer party

  • Aug 20, 2014 · 6:00 PM

Sabine Storm and Ken Wong from ustwo talks about how their culture enables the creative play to make a successful game like Monument Valley.

If you missed out on this years’ most popular and beautiful game and winner of Apple Design Award 2014, be sure to try it out! Come and watch Sabine and Ken from ustwo talk about the culture of ustwo and the process behind their latest hit Monument Valley.

The Culture at ustwo

“Our aim is to empower individuals to be creative in their own way, and how they do it is up to them. We merely supply the environment on a physical and human level and offer support. We want people to feel they can be themselves and to some extent that means do whatever they wish – but they are here to do the best work possible and help the studio reach its goals. We are grounded in process as creatives and we understand how to run a business.”

Mills, founder and Chief Wonka of ustwo

Sabine Storm is a Product Owner, Interaction Designer and promoter of fun at ustwo

Sabine has worked as an interaction designer for ustwo since 2010. The past few years she’s moved into creating and executing own IP products from the ustwo Malmo studio. She has a strong believe that silly is serious business and that culture and creative development is the keystone for any greatness. She will give insights to how fun is used as part of the ustwo business, and how culture has been promoted and used to create a platform for ustwo.

Ken Wong is the Designer and artist on Monument Valley

Ken Wong served as lead designer on ustwo's recent mobile hit Monument Valley. An Australian living in London, his previous work also includes the art direction of Alice: Madness Returns at Spicy Horse and his solo indie project, Hackycat. In creating Monument Valley ustwo sought to create a meaningful, rich experience for audiences beyond the 'gamer' by replacing tropes and overused patterns with a focus on user experience.
