JCRES: Bill Becker: Climate Wars. A Report from the Front Lines

Learn about battles at the state and national levels by industry lobby groups like ALEC to roll back State Renewables Portfolio Standards. How moderate Republicans are breaking ranks from the Irrational Right. How the political gulf in D.C. doesn't exist outside the Beltway. The growing risk crises for fossil fuels.

William Becker is a senior policy advisor on sustainable development, clean energy and climate policy with former Governor Bill Ritter’s Center for the New Energy Economy, Hunter Lovins’ Natural Capitalism Solutions and the Washington, D.C. Environment & Energy Study Institute. Becker authored “Powering Forward”, a comprehensive set of climate policy recommendations – many of which many were implemented! – for the Obama White House and headed the Presidential Climate Action Project (PCAP) until 2013. He lives in Golden.

Co-sponsored by JUC’s Green Task Force, Colorado Renwable Energy Society, and Golden Earth Days.
