For our first event of 2016, we're pleased to welcome Yan Liu, a truly cross-cultural entrepreneur who's founded companies and done business in Shanghai, Tokyo, and New York. We'll hear about Yan's story, his business today, and his projections about the future of startups across the three nations his work spans.

About TVision Insights

TV rating is the most important number in the $70 billion TV ad market, but there has been no innovation in how we deliver, target or measure TV ads in decades. TVision leverages state-of-the-art computer vision technology to passively collect viewer behavior, demographic, emotional affect, and attention by utilizing sensors in the actual living room. This data is extremely valuable to advertisers and media-planning agencies who today have no real-time measurement of their advertisement’s effectiveness once it airs. Networks have found tremendous value in our product, using our data to understand the engagement of their programming and commercial pods versus competing networks, and providing additional insight on their top performing advertisers.

Programmatic TV is growing rapidly, but there is no effective data source to enable audience targeting. Our real-time audience data enables effective targeting in programmatic TV, and bridges the data-gap between digital media and TV.

About Yan Liu

Yanfeng Liu was born in Qingdao, China and grew up in both Japan and China. After graduating from Tokyo Tech, Yan started his career in McKinsey's Tokyo office, then moved back to China to start his company, Yo-ren. Yo-ren is a leading digital marketing agency in Shanghai. Currently, Yan is CEO/Co-founder at TVision Insight, a startup TV analytics company he founded at MIT.

日本で小学校と大学時代を過ごし、日・中・英語のトリリンガル。マサチューセッツ工科大学卒。マッキンゼー・アンド・カンパニー日本支社を経て、共同創業者として中国にて「游仁堂(Yo-ren Limited)」を設立。游仁堂は上海のデジタル・マーケティング会社として10社以上のナショナル・クライアントを抱える。近年は、オンライン化が進むテレビのターゲット視聴者に効率的にアプローチできるソリューションを提供する「TVision Insights」を米国で新たに設立し、CEO/Co-founderを務める
