Hi guys, I'm really sorry but I've been caught up and can't make the meetup >_<. I'll try my best to make it to the nijikai if you do one.

I'm looking forward to tonight's meetup. As an iOS developer now venturing into Android, I'm curious about testing methodologies for Android. Given the plethora of Android devices running various versions of the SDK with different form factors, testing seems like a bit of nightmare to me, especially when dealing with specific hardware like the camera. In fact, I am working on an app now that does bitmap manipulations using both the camera and an image overlay, and I'm wondering how to insure this works on as many devices as possible. One problem I'm running into is "Out of Memory" errors on certain devices. Of course, the bitmap from a camera shot is huge, so I gather this must be scaled down. At any rate, we can discuss more at the meetup or perhaps the nomikai afterwards.

Could you update the location to include the name of the business who offers the meeting room. I had trouble finding the place last time. It would help to see it on one of the directory placards of the building, or, failing that, it would help in asking for directions. Also since the company offering the meeting room is also offering a form of sponsorship, I think they'd appreciate the recognition.

Sure. the company name is Cyberagent. I don't know where you'll be entering so I'll write both ways:

If you entering from the front of the building ( coming from Hachiko for example) so you wanna go up with the escalators, walk straight ahead, pass the starbuck, go up some stairs. Ignore the elevator to your right. keep walking, pass a Sushi restaurant that always has a very long line. Around there you'll find a wider area with some elevators and escalators to a floor above. take the escalators! When you arrive you'll see many (like 10, 5 each side) elevators. grab one of those to the 17th floor :) In the reception ask about the Meetup and you'll be guided to the room ;)

If you're coming from Dougenzaka, you'll go straight, pass the Sunkus convenience store and you'll see the above mentioned wide area where you'll take the escalators up and get the elevator to the 17th floor :)

I have a question to ask to everyone: I downloaded an application and it comes with lot of images that I have to download separately. I can see the images in the "Gallery" as well as in the application of course. I'm wondering if there is a way to protect those images so they are only visible using the application ?

You can make the system ignore media files from a folder by placing a .nomedia file into that folder. The file does not need to contain anything. A simple "touch .nomedia" is enough.
