Meetup details changed: Open Seattle Japanese Language and Culture Meetup

I've updated this Meetup. For more details, see the full listing:

When: Thursday, January 24,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Marrakesh Moroccan Restaurant
[masked]nd Ave
Seattle, WA 98121

Our resident meetup bellydancing celebrity is making her final appearance at Marrakesh, so we figured we'd bring a contingent to send her off in style.

If you are a vegetarian or have other dietary restrictions, please make a note of it in your RSVP; they'll handle it, but there's a simple fixed meal that they prefer to serve to large groups that includes an assortment of various things, and they will expect us to have an order ready by 7pm that night.

Expect almost exactly $26-27 for food after tax and tip from the set multicourse menu. It's a good idea to bring some dollar bills and fives to tip dancers. You can order some drinks as well; they'll serve some mint tea at the end of everything as a refreshment. Please try to bring cash.

Please keep your RSVP up to date. No-shows are very bad when we pre-order.

Parking is easiest a few blocks north of the venue. There are some paid lots nearby which are reasonably priced. Bus access is unusually easy; many of the routes that head between Downtown and either Queen Anne or Fremont do the trick, including, if I remember right, 1, 2, 5, 8, 13, 16 and maybe even 358.

There's a reasonable chance that Jason will be there with Kojiro and possibly grandparents, but it's not 100% certain yet, so Ayako will be your organizer and bill collector for the evening.

Nijikai may be at Rob Roy, which would be my preference if I could come unencumbered by toddler and newborn, or at one of the gajillions of Belltown bars.

This Meetup repeats every week on Thursday.

If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP "No" or "Yes".)

You can always get in touch with me through my group profile on Meetup.
