Meetup details changed: Open Seattle Japanese Language and Culture Meetup

From: Jason T.
Sent on: Monday, June 30, 2014, 9:10 PM

I've updated this Meetup. For more details, see the full listing:
http://www.meetup.com/JapaneseSeattle/events/190817662/

When: Thursday, July 3,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Bamboo
[masked]th Ave E
Seattle, WA 98112

Bamboo is an inexpensive Vietnamese joint on Capitol Hill serving lots of noodle dishes, curries, and rice dishes.

We'll mostly order separately, but you can share with your neighbors if you like. It'll probably run $12-16/person including tax and tip if you keep it simple, or a little more with drinks and appetizers. They're usually pretty flexible about separate payment, but I suggest you bring cash to keep things moving fast when we settle up the bill, so that you can efficiently progress to nijikai if you're up for that.

It's convenient to public transportation; the bus routes 8 and 43 are the most obvious routes, but there are probably a half dozen other buses that stop within a short walking distance. Parking can be difficult, but it's usually possible to find a street spot within three or four blocks.

Assuming we have critical mass, nijikai will probably be a short walk away. You may want to try the "new" not-at-all-like-the Canterbury Canterbury, or maybe Smith will do the trick.

This is a holiday weekend, and the last time we had a Thursday night meetup on July 3, we had a ridiculously large turnout. So if we end up with an unusually large group, we may make some last minute adjustments; I will get in touch with the restaurant to make sure they can handle us, but it would make my life easier if you RSVP early and keep your plans up-to-date.

This Meetup repeats every week on Thursday.

If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP "No" or "Yes".)

You can always get in touch with me through my group profile on Meetup.
