Jack had a question about progressive disclosure during the talk, and I just wanted to touch on a few things about it since I wasn't feeling too well during the talk.

Progressive disclosure is the idea that as you test for the user you allow the user to have power over the application but still maintain the simplicity of a good user experience. To do this, you find which pieces of the application are most important (through testing) and present those pieces to the user. The other pieces to the user that aren't as important are presented upon request.

Progressive disclosure improves usability by presenting only the minimum data required for a specific task...pretty much so the user doesn't get too overloaded.

Which may be important to you big data dudes ;)

If anyone has anymore questions, please ask them here.

I may be biased, but I think this meetup was awesome.

Good presentation, there's a lot about the UX designer's job that I never realized.

Natasha, thank you for rallying on a sick day and laying your knowledge on JaxDUG.

A good team requires respect. Respect requires understanding.

Not only did your reveal of the craft and magic in UX Design increase my understanding and respect, but it was also motivating. If you are going to work that hard to make something great, then why wouldn’t I work hard to add that mojo to my own efforts and contribute to something that transcends my limitations?
