Intro to Finding Better Jobs + Needs Assessment

Short notice but I'm going to kick off this meetup on Wednesday night.

Firstly, I have written some articles on "Getting 30% More Pay", "What (job) should you be doing?", "Better Job, More Money" ... If you would like to get a couple of these, please email me on d.lam@orgtek.org

There will be 2 parts to Wed night.

1. I will deliver some training, go through the Job Process but if you do not know which direction you want to go in, we can help with that too. Specific questions eg. Resumes, Interviews, are welcome. I have honestly not seen THE book for either Resumes or Interviews, but I do know from successful experience how to do these well.

2. I will also be doing a quick needs assessment to see what various people need.

I have found that people have different needs so once I establish to everyone that I can help you (or know people who can), I will get an idea who wants what.

Eg. English as Second Language vs Executives. Different needs.

So I will get you to tell me a little about your situation and may select a couple of you specifically for particular help as well. So try to make it if you can.

The venue has kindly be offered, and will likely be THE venue going forward as well. If there are any changes then I will let you know.

If you are looking to offer your own training services to the group please contact me first.

I have run a few successful non-profit meetups (eg. Professional Development & Speaking) and occasionally people try to add events or turn up just to prospect for clients in a way which interferes with the group.

I am not adverse to people offering services and may share the stage with you, but I do need to know what you deliver beforehand - both in content and quality. I have my own thoughts of what works and a network of people who I know can deliver, but the arsenal is not necessarily complete.

Nevertheless, professional courtesy would be appreciated in this area.
