This month we'll be taking on Git (software for tracking changes in code) and GitHub (a website for sharing code tracked with Git). Combined, they are incredible collaboration tools - even for non-coders.
We'll be following the Git-it tutorial, written by GitHubber Jessica Lord. If you're already familiar with Git, come along to help beginners and to share your favourite Git protips (mine is `git add -p`).
To save time during the meetup, please install Git on your computer beforehand. No previous knowledge is needed, although familiarity with the command line is helpful.
Important information:
• Please add your full name to Meetup.com for our guest list.
• There will be no food so grab a bite to eat beforehand.
• Make sure to bring a laptop.
• Collaborative hackpad is here
Agenda: The session will run from 7.30pm to 9pm.
7.30: Show and Tell
7.45: Work through tutorial
8.45: Debrief
9.00: The pub!

Sadly I cannot take up the spot that came available this morning as I had booked another event only yesterday!
Looks like it will be a great event and I shall try going throught the tutorial links you provided.
cheers

If interested in using some of the techniques that'll be presented during this week's workshop on the server via NodeJS (or even in the browser), drop me a line — I'm the maintainer of Github.js (https://github.com/michael/github). You can do some super cool things this way — I use Github.js in conjunction with AxisJS to use Github Pages for free chart webhosting. 😁

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
