Journocoders workshop: Data viz with D3

Howdy. To kick off the new school year we're having a session on D3.js, aka “Data-Driven Documents”. It's a commonly-used JavaScript library for data visualisation that's tricky to learn but can help create incredible interactive graphics.

As per Journocoders style, we'll be going through a D3 tutorial as a group, so make sure to bring a laptop! No programming experience is required, but we strongly recommend taking the Codecademy HTML & CSS course beforehand.

Oh, and make sure to join the collaborative hackpad for the event!

Schedule:
7.00: Doors open
7.30: Show & tell
7:40: Intro to D3 lightning talk by John Burn-Murdoch
7.45: Tutorial
9.00: The pub!

Hello, looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow! Just to let you know, John Burn-Murdoch, a data journalist at the FT and frequent D3 user, will be giving a five-minute intro to D3 before we start the tutorial. So even more reason to arrive on time!

Great choice for a subject - set a reminder and everything but RSVPs still locked it seems.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
