Have you ever wanted to build your own @ThinkpieceBot, @fbibot or @horse_ebooks*? If so you're in luck, as this month we'll be following a tutorial to create our own Twitter bot using Node.js.
The event is being kindly hosted by the Guardian in their Kings Place offices near Kings Cross Station. (So perhaps a Polly Toynbot would be appropriate?)
Make sure to bring a laptop, as this will be a collaborative hands-on session. If you don't have much experience programming (or using Node.js), you could prepare by doing this tutorial. But if it seems hard fear not, we will help you on the day.
Oh, and be sure to join the collaborative hackpad for the event!
Schedule:
7.00: Doors open
7.30: Show & tell
7.45: Tutorial
9.00: The pub!
Other info:
- RSVPs will close at 1pm on the day of the event in order to provide security time to make ID badges.
- Accessing the room inside the Guardian requires climbing two sets of stairs. If you require the lift, please message one of the organisers before the event.
* Eagle-eyed readers will remember that this one eventually became human
RSVPs close: Oct 22, 1:00 PM

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
