Welcome to Open Source!

Would you like to contribute to an open source project, but don’t know where to get started? Do you maintain or contribute to an open source project and would like to help others with their first contributions?

This event is for you: a friendly Welcome to Open Source :)

Open Source projects will prepare starter issues for the event and we will have coaches on the event as well as available online through chat for help. No matter if you want to contribute code, writing, design or documentation, there will be issues for everyone, no matter how experienced you are. If you plan to come, you can practice your first pull request by adding yourself as participant to our GitHub page (https://github.com/welcome-to-open-source/atlanta). If you maintain an Open Source project, prepare issues and add them to the list. If you know of an Open Source project that you would like us to reach out to, comment here (https://github.com/welcome-to-open-source/Atlanta/issues/3).
