Ask an Atheist @ the Kansas City St. Patrick's Day Parade

Join the Kansas City Atheist Coalition for “Ask an Atheist” at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. On the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Westport Road, in our snazzy blue KCAC T-shirts, we will be making ourselves available to answer questions from the public about being an atheist.

Unfortunately, KCAC was denied permission to participate in this year’s parade. A parade committee representative stated that the committee did not think KCAC “would be a good fit” for the parade. Attitudes like this speak directly to the need for more “Ask an Atheist” events, where we are able to destigmatize the word “atheist” and show our community that we are happy, friendly, compassionate individuals who don’t believe in any gods, but do believe in people!

I heard a rumor of green shirts. Is this true?

You heard true - unfortunately, we had to have the order in on Wednesday, so we won't have one for people who didn't place an order before then. However, we're tracking people who express an interest - there's been a lot of interest in getting a shirt even after St. Paddy's Day.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
