AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY CLASS #1

The AKC Star Puppy class is a basic obedience class designed for puppies 4 months to 1 year of age. We will teach mat training, sits, downs, stays, settle, come, heeling on lead and many other behaviors. Controlled socialization without aggression or fear around other puppies and other humans is a large part of this class, too. KCA only supports positive reinforcement training in all their classes.

All puppies must have proof of their completed vaccinations. Please bring a hard copy to class to be attached to your registration form. If you attend all 6 classes, I will test your team and if you pass, you can apply for an AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY CERTIFICATE and a really nice medallion.

The class is six sessions with a $60.00 donation to Kern Canine Activities. If you are not a KCA member it will be $80.00 which will pay for your membership for a year, until June 30, 2014.

You will need to bring a flat fabric collar (buckle or snap), or harness, a six foot leash, water for you and your puppy, a mat or small piece of carpet (approximately 18" x 30") and lots of small soft treats & a puppy toy for your dog. Only one puppy per one handler.

**To hold this class, it is necessary for a minimum of 4 puppies to sign up. The class is limited to 10 teams and usually fills up fast.
