Introduction to Apache Spark - Lightning-Fast Cluster Computing

On December 19, we’re hosting the first Spark User Meetup in Kathmandu.

Apache Spark is a fast and general engine for big data processing, with built-in modules for streaming, SQL, machine learning and graph processing.

We strongly encourage all attendees to install Apache Spark on their laptops in advance. We will have a hands-on followed by a hackathon. (Winners will receive a surprise gift from Databricks ( San Francisco based company founded by creators of Spark )

The following is the agenda.

10- 10:45 am : Introduction to Big Data and Apache Spark by Ganesh Chand

10:45: - 12 :00: Spark Hands-on and sample code walk-through by Ganesh Chand

12:00 - 2: 00 : Hackathon(We will divide attendees into groups, a sample dataset will be provided) and announcements!!

Note: we are limiting this meetup for maximum of 40 attendees only. So, hurry up and RSVP.
