Tues, Sept 23 -Paddle Chase Garden Creek, YarmouthPort

Details
Not only is this a beautiful paddle, Chase Garden Creek (Grey's Beach / Bass Hole) has a huge, paved parking lot that NEVER requires parking stickers, so I have posted it every month. There are restrooms, a beach and a long boardwalk going out over the marsh...and 5 active Osprey nests this year.
Chase Garden Creek winds it's way into a beautiful marsh in Yarmouth Port. High tide in Barnstable Harbor is 11:38 AM, so the water will already be up in the creek/marsh. There is shooting at the nearby gun club, that we will hear that during weekend paddles. It should be quiet on a Tuesday...maybe.
The launch area is flanked on the left by a long boardwalk, where people go to see the sunset and the gorgeous views of Cape Cod Bay and a beach area on the right. There is an active osprey nest next to the boardwalk.
DIRECTIONS: From Rt.6, the Mid-Cape Highway, take exit 8 and go NORTH on Union St. to Rt 6A. Cross 6A, by going a tiny bit left to the left of a gas station to get on Old Church St. (If you miss that and are on 6A heading west, take the next right on Playground and head north...it will join Old Church St.) About 0.3 mile up Old Church from 6A, bear right at the stop sign onto Center St. Go 0.5 mile on Center and at the T, take a left to stay on Center and drive until you see the parking lot. Go BEYOND the parking lot and see the ramp just before the boardwalk. Unload your gear and park your car in the lot.
Please leave enough time to travel and unload, so that you are in the water at 10:00.
All paddles are for experienced and energetic paddlers. This is not a place to "get experience on the water"...you need that experience before paddling with this group. No guests on paddles.
