OpenGL/OpenGL ES Meetup
Details
Join us for the first Khronos Boston Chapter Meetup at the British Beer Company in Framingham, MA on Tuesday, June 11th at 6:00PM. The event will feature a talk introducing the newly released OpenGL ES 3.0. After the talk, there will be time for demos and networking. Come learn about OpenGL ES 3.0 and meet others in the area that are interested in 3D graphics with OpenGL, OpenGL ES, and WebGL.
Talk Details:
Maurice Ribble, a lead engineer from Qualcomm’s OpenGL ES driver team, will be presenting information about the newly released OpenGL ES 3.0 API. He will be showing an OpenGL ES 3.0 demo and then going over some of the new features in OpenGL ES 3.0 that enable reduced power consumption, new algorithms, and improved performance. There will be plenty of eye candy for those less familiar with graphics programming. Parts of this presentation will be moderately technical, so to get everything out of it you’ll need to have had some experience with a real time graphics API like OpenGL. Come and learn about this cutting edge technology from an expert on OpenGL ES 3.0.
Demos:
After Maurice's talk, there will be time for people to demo their OpenGL/OpenGL ES-related work. So far we have on tap:
Rhythmia Medical: 3D Visualization of Cardiac Arrhythmia implemented with Qt and OpenGL
Please E-mail dginsburg@upsamplesoftware.com if you are interested in giving a demo (max. 10 minutes).
Cost:
Attendance is free and open to anyone, but please note that guests are responsible for paying for their own food and drink.
