Chapter Kickoff

Moving the meeting 1 day earlier to accumulate presenters availability

We meet at the VIP room of the Temple Bar.

The kickoff agenda includes an overview on khronos, on the chapters, and short guest lectures on OpenCL and OpenVX.

Note: The food and beverages are not covered by the chapter. You're paying for your drinks/food...

I think it was just starting to take off when it ended, but that's good for a first meeting. Your plans for the future seem good, I plan on attending. A place with Kosher certification would be nice for next time :-)

Thanks for organising this meetup - I enjoyed it. I noticed that some of the attendees asked many questions, made many comments or there was otherwise a lot of discussion, which made us stray from the schedule. However, that may not be a bad thing.

I was late, unfortunately, but people seemed to dive right in - at least some of them. I hope I'll get a chance to hear more about what the prospective members are doing and how we might help each other and help Khronos help us.

Thanks to all who attended the Kickoff, and especially to Boaz and Tomer for presenting. See you on our next chapter meeting :-)

Good location, food, company, and the talks were not too bad, though I would have appreciated more hands-on material.

You guys should broaden the PR of the event.I have stumbled upon it occasionally via Khronos tweet.

Ofer Rosenberg: I don't think it is a big issue to me.

Yeah, sorry for overstating the FOSSish aspect. Most/Almost all OpenCL drivers are actually proprietary and closed-source. But less stuff is closed than with NVidia, and in my personal opinion, the wider variety of OpenCL platforms make it more amenable for a FOSS push.

    Hi,

is there a way to get to the Cinema City complex by bus or by a service cab from Tel Aviv? I recall something about there wasn't any place to stop on either side of the road.

Furthermore, "to accumulate" should probably be "to accommodate".

Regarding places to stop - there are bus stations on both sides of the road, with a pedestrian bridge to cross. There's an active cab service on both directions, mainly cabs heading to Herzelia or Natanya.

Eyal, Ofer: thanks for the information. It sounds like it won't be too hard to get there.
