Are you interested in adding LEDs or EL wire to your clothes and accessories? This is an opportunity to work on your project, start a new one, or just learn a little more about how to make things glow. We will have an assortment of materials to examine and there will be a few tools available to use. While we won't officially be offering instruction, we can all help each other and learn in the process.

Please bring any tools or materials that you want to use yourself or are willing to share: a soldering iron, adjustable wire strippers, LEDs, conductive thread, EL wire and small drivers, Arduino and breadboard for testing, fabric or clothing or jewelry that you want to alter or practice on, etc.

Plan ahead and order your glowy bits now! EL options: seattlelumin.com (http://seattlelumin.com/) (for local pickup) or coolneon.com (http://coolneon.com/). LEDs and soft circuit supplies and kits: adafruit.com (http://adafruit.com/), spark fun.com (http://fun.com/). Jo-Ann Fabrics in Ballard has lots of fabric and craft supplies.

Makerhaus is generously letting us use their public space for this event. They have a few parking spots out front but they fill up fast. Free street parking can be found on the opposite side of 36th St as well as on side streets. There is a taqueria next door, a pub down the street, and other dining options in the neighborhood for before or after this meetup.

NOTE: As usual, we will start the meeting with Show and Tell, so even if you aren't interested in glowing clothes you are welcome to share ideas, things in progress, completed projects, or to just see what other people bring to share.
