Do you get Git?
Details
The Knight Lab is hosting a training session on Git!
Git is a version control and code management system that helps programmers keep track of changes.
It was developed for programmers, but increasingly it's being used by non-programmers to keep track of changes in any project where organization and progress are essential.
Join us October 30 to learn the ins and outs of Git and how you can you use it to make your projects run more smoothly — whether you need to organize notes, track revisions in articles or code, or share content.
This will be a great session for Medill and McCormick students alike.
David Eads, a stellar developer from the Chicago Tribune's News Applications team, will facilitate.
David has asked everyone to have a Github account (free!) prior to the event. He'll also need everyone's user name the day before the event, please send that information to r-graff@northwestern.edu by Monday Oct. 29.
See you all at 6 pm on October 30!
