Legal Innovation Panel

Details

Join us for our annual December social event.

This year we have invited a panel of distinguished law firm experts to talk about Legal Innovation.

Our panelists are:

Andrew Alleyne: Andrew is a partner with the law firm Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP (http://www.fasken.com/). He has a broad corporate commercial practice encompassing diverse transactions such as M&A and drafting and negotiating outsourcing, transitional services, and a wide range of technology related agreements including agreements regarding development, protection and exploitation of technology assets. Andrew represents a range of clients from blue chips to start-ups to leading edge technology shops both in Canada and in international matters. He also advises on the Canadian legal and regulatory aspects of online gambling. Andrew is a past chair of the Toronto Computer Lawyers Group, a current director and past president of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, a member of the Art Gallery of Toronto’s AGO Next committee and he has been seconded as a director in the law department of a large multimedia company. In 2012, was named a "Rising Star" (Top 40 under 40) by Lexpert magazine.

Monica Goyal: Monica is a Toronto based lawyer who began her career as an Engineer. She founded http://mylegalbriefcase.com , a website dedicated to helping people navigate the court system. She now works with Aluvion, a law firm dedicated to changing the way small businesses and individuals access law.

Mitch Kowalski: Mitch has spent more than 20 years in different roles for a wide variety of legal services providers - he’s not happy with what he found. He believes that there are much better ways to deliver legal services; ways that reduce costs for law firms and clients, increase efficiency, enhance the lawyer-client relationship, improve access to justice and improve a lawyer’s quality of life. Mitch's book Avoiding Extinction: Reimagining Legal Services for the 21st Century (http://kowalski.ca/the-book) (published by the American Bar Association) has made him in demand as speaker and consultant by legal groups around the world.

As we do every year, the December event is no charge, however, we (and the Fox and Fiddle) appreciate it if you keep your RSVP up-to-date.

See you December 4th!
