***UPDATED MEMBERSHIP POLICY***PLEASE READ & EDIT YOUR PROFILE IMMEDIATELY****
Korean Barbecue Groupies/Korean Food Connoisseurs is made of up a group of courteous diners who enjoy exploring all the great Korean restaurants in Los Angeles.
If you're interested in trying new restaurants and dishes in Koreatown while enjoying some beer, soju, or barley/corn tea with people who love to socialize, then join our group for some serious overeating!
In light of reports of some very discourteous members, we enforce a very STRICT PHOTO REQUIREMENT & NO FLAKE POLICY!!!
The organizers and our regulars take great pride in maintaining a safe, fun, and enjoyable group that delights in hanging out and dining at the best Korean restaurants in town. Unfortunately, we've run into some rude and crazy people who don't respect the organizers' or members' time and energy, and we're tired of it!! We're tired of the flakers, the crashers, and those who take advantage of our hard work. We're also tired of those people who don't exercise good social etiquette or good judgment. As a result, we have the following policy in place.
(1.) You must post a recently taken (NOT from 5 years ago!!!) large and clear headshot photo (of yourself, not a celebrity, not your sister/brother/friend/spouse/pets/flowers/or anyone or anything else) as your PRIMARY photo
, so we can recognize YOU when you come to the restaurant. ****No group photos. ****No side profiles.****No sunglasses*** It must be a single headshot photo of yourself facing the camera. ****This is for the safety and comfort of all the members. *****Even if we have met you before, you must do this. ****No exceptions!! If you don't know what headshot photo is, please go here: http://en.wikipedia.o...
. A headshot photo is a photo of the individual, from the shoulder up. It's a close-up photo of your face facing the camera. If you cannot even follow this simple instruction, please think twice about your membership in this group. If you aren't even willing to give us the courtesy of posting a real and recent photo of yourself, we don't want to meet you.
(2.) You must respect the No-show/No-flake rule. You must cancel/change your rsvp to a NO at least 24 hours before the event. You must give proper notice to the event host/organizer if you cannot attend or are running late. This is just common courtesy, and it shows respect to the organizers and to the other attendees, and to those who are on the wait list.
(3.) You may not crash an event, or bring other guests unless the organizer is aware ahead of time.
(4.) You must be respectful to all members and organizers. Understand that attending our events is a privilege and NOT a right. You are not entitled to a seat, just because you're a member.
(5.) You must use your real name in your profile. If your real name is Emily, but your profile name is "BabyDoll", or if your real name is Steve, but your profile name is "Photodude", please change it. We want to meet a real person, with a real name. You may use a nickname, if that is the name your friends or colleagues know you by.
(6.) Each organizer may have other rules in place. It is your responsibility to read the event description and adhere to those rules.
A violation of ANY OF THE ABOVE puts you at risk of being banned from the group permanently. That means you are never allowed back into the group, and you may not ever attend one of our events.
If you have any questions, send me an email!! If you're rude in your email, please be clear that you will be banned permanently. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy re: rudeness!!!! All the organizers are volunteers, and your membership to this great dining group is FREE!!!!! FREE does not mean cheap, so please don't treat it like it is. ***** If you have any complaints about our rules, then you are not suited for this group. So, please show your respect and appreciation to the organizers. We have no time for any nonsense whatsoever!
If you agree with our policy, then you are more than welcome to our events!! Come out and meet some good people who know how to be courteous and have a good time while enjoying some delicious Korean food!!!!! :)
