On Thursday, April 3rd @6:00pm, in cooperation with Grand Parade, once again we bring you the best meetups in town! We have pizza! We have beer! We have great presentations and all your favorite JS folks in one place!
If you are a senior developer, JavaScript intern, or a web apps enthusiast, this meetup is the best way to meet people, make friends, and to share and gather new knowledge.
Tell your friends, tell your dog and your neighbors, and see you soon!
Agenda:
👨🏫 Kuba Wąsik – "Push it to the limit… I mean browser"
Push it to the browser. I'll show you how easy it is to start sending Push notifications directly to users' browsers – even when the website is closed.
We'll go through the mechanism, technical requirements, user registration and subscription process, and how to manage them.
We'll explore best UX practices for registering and engaging users with Web Push technology, as well as the challenges we might encounter along the way.
This is a technology-agnostic solution – during the presentation, we'll demonstrate an example using web technologies: JavaScript (TypeScript) and Node.js, with a touch of frontend.
👨🏫 Łukasz Szcześniak – Daily basis software security
During the talk, I want to encourage you to proactively think of potential security threats and consequences they might encounter during daily work. Through a couple of case studies, we will discuss how to look for vulnerabilities on a daily basis as a software engineer.
👨🏫 Mauricio Dziedzinski – Clean Architecture Principles
Tired of code that's hard to change and even harder to test? This talk will introduce you to Clean Architecture, a powerful approach to structuring your applications. We'll explore how its focus on dependency management between architectural boundaries leads to cleaner, more robust, and adaptable software.
Speakers
🧑💻 Łukasz Szcześniak is working at GP as a Principal Frontend Engineer in Sports team. He has experience in various web-related topics and uses TypeScript in his daily work. In leisure time, Łukasz likes to play competitive games.
🧑💻 Mauricio Dziedzinski has been working at GP for 5 years, passing through Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead positions but eventually coming back to his passion for engineering. Working mostly developing micro services and UIs using Typescript/React. His messy ADHD head makes sure that his hobbies span from all the way from gaming, programming, sports and music, to the deep rabbit holes of physics, philosophy and whatever else will fuel his dopamine.
