Join me for a 1-1/4 hour private tour of the Sheats-Goldstein House, the iconic John Lautner-designed residence which has been been featured in many movies and videos such as Charlie's Angels and The Big Lebowski. The home is a private residence and open only upon invitation.

James Turrell's light show (The Skyspace, or "Above Horizon"), is an art installation located on a steep slope below the residence. The project is built in the same construction materials as the home. Originally, owner Jim Goldstein conceived this art installation as a collaboration between architect John Lautner and artist James Turrell, but Lautner died before being able to work extensively on the project. The room features two portals which fold away using carbon fiber composite materials. The room also contains a built-in concrete lounge to enjoy the thousands of hidden LEDs that flood the room for the sky and light show.

The owner has asked that a $35 donation (plus $3.50 credit card transaction charge) be collected for the John Lautner Foundation to help support their educational mission, in return to opening his house to us. On this day, we will pay special tribute to Karol Lautner Peterson, Mr. Lautner's daughter, who tirelessly worked for the Lautner Foundation in educating the design community on her father's work.

The address is 10104 Angelo View Drive. Please DO NOT park on the block in front of the house, as the neighbors get upset and we could lose our visiting privileges. You can park on Davies Drive, about a block away. After you arrive at the driveway of the house, walk down the path to the courtyard where I will meet you. Please wear flat shoes and please do not bring any food or drink inside the house. Take lots of pictures and enjoy!

Please note that the tour is open only to adults.
