I Love My Park Day

New York State and LLBean on Saturday May 4th Will be celebrating "I Love My Park Day".  On this day thousands of volunteers across NYS will participate in cleaning up park lands, planting trees and gardens, restoring trails, removing invasive species and working on various site improvement projects.  LLBean has partnered with NYS as a major supporter and partner of this day with a sizable donation.  As you know Parks have been struggling recently with funding and need volunteers and help all across the state.  This is a great opportunity to help parks in our local community with just a few hours of our time.  We would like to show presence and support at parks around our area.   You can visit http://www.ptny.org/ilovemypark/ for a complete list of what state parks our participating and details. LLbean will have presence at Grafton, Thatcher and Saratoga Spa parks.

If your able to make a difference and give a little bit of your time it’s for a good cause.  Thanks for your assistance and dedication to our local parks.  I look forward to this becoming a yearly tradition. Please RSVP and show your support. Thanks!

Great day at the Saratoga spa park. Cleaned up most of the park and other teams planted trees and seeds. The bean boot mobile was a big hit as well!

Cleaned up at Thacher Park yesterday. Beautiful day, beautiful park!!! Most unusual items picked up? A floss pick and Q-tip - not the first things I think of doing while at the Overlook! Can't wait to go back to walk the Indian Ladder Trail!!

AWESOME...bald eagle circling overhead with majestic blue sky background...right over the trail we were cleaning up! Couldn't ask for anything more!

Awesome...first sight, a bald eagle against the magnificent blue sky circling the trail we were cleaning at Grafton Lakes State Park!

I went up to Moreau Lake, painted benches, helped install benches and cleaned debris out from under the bridge, so the water would flow. Muddy, but happy. Had a great time!

It was great to work a long side the guys from freeport. It was well organized and the cleanup went well. We covered a lot of area. Everyone enjoyed the bootmobile.

May 4th has evening commitments, and my health isn't strong just now, but I want to hope that things improve by then and we can make it.
