Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
This is a great activity that the whole family will love! We will attempt to find the treasure hidden deep in Baurer Park. If you have a hand help GPS feel free to bring it. There is also an app that can be downloaded on your smartphone at Geocaching.com, but you do not need one to participate in this event.
This is an easy .5 mile walk on a maintained trail. We will meet in the parking lot on Sand Creek Rd, Colonie at 10:00 AM. Minimum age is 8, 8-15 year old must have a participating adult with them, 16-17 years must have a parent/guardian sign a participant agreement but do not need to attend. This is in conjunction with our OUTDOOR ADVENTURE WEEKEND being held all weekend long at the Albany LLBean Store.
