Endurance Hike at North Park

Come join L.L.Bean's Outdoor Discovery School Instructor John Mrdjenovich for an endurance hike. Get your heart pumping as we hike North Park at a brisk pace. This outing is free and will take place rain/snow or shine.

What to Bring:

• Good Hiking or Strong Athletic Shoes

Minimum age is 10: This outing is open to all ages with the minimum age being 10. Children 10 to 14 years of age need to be accompanied by a participating adult. Children 15 to 17 years old can participate alone after their parent has signed the appropriate release form.

    Never question Mother Nature! The park is full of snow and the trails are covered. So make sure you are wearing good boots (waterproof preferred). Extra pair of socks (wool preferred)... Leave the cotton at home. Wear loose light layers so that you can maintain a comfortable body temperature. Add if needed loose if needed. Make sure you have either a walking stick or trekking poles (advised). Bring water, a small pack to keep your layers in.... Sunglasses or goggles to u with the snow reflection.

    We will be walking through the snow so this will be a phenomenal leg workout. Pace will be dictated by the strength of the group and the conditions of the area we are in at any given time. For those that have done these with me before as always no one gets left behind. Looking forward to a great day Until then please be prompt.

    I have been asked to post how far we will walk and how long it will take. This will all depend on the conditions of the trails. Safety is paramount and the goal is for everyone to enjoy themselves and come home safely and uninjured. So plan on
    Time: 3 to 4 hours
    Distance: around 12 or so miles. (conditions permitting)

    It will be muddy plan for it. Bring a change of socks. Trekking poles or walking stick recommended.

    Everyone needs to take into consideration that we just had large quantity of snow melt off and a day of rain on top of that. The woods are going to be soggy. Any questions please feel free to reach out to me. Looking forward to seeing you.
