Making the Clojure Paradigm Shift for Newbies

Some people had to go through a major paradigm shift from procedural programming to the Object Oriented model. We know about this experience, even if our first language was Java, because we've seen the pseudo-procedural programs written by people who didn't make the shift. So, we're interested in Clojure. We're intrigued by STM. We're curious about coding in Clojure, but we're fearful of our code not being truly idiomatic functional code. This talk will be led by experienced functional style Clojure coders who will guide the newbies in how to approach using Clojure to solve the problems they see in a clean, functional manner. Lots of questions and answers will be welcomed in this session. This session should appeal to any long time Java developers interested in the new JVM dynamic languages, that is to say any Java developers interested in staying current with the industry and not becoming dinosaurs.
