What we’re about

We'd like to work through some of the seminal texts in computer science that normally collect dust on the bookshelf (AIMA, PAIP, SICP, TAOCP, &c.). We've finished up Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs, and are currently working through Abu-Mostafa's Learning from Data.

We're also a support group for people's side projects of every kind: MOOCs (including Coursera, etc.), learning new languages, pet projects; we provide feedback and accountability.

On many, but not all, nights there is flexibility in the end time.  It is not uncommon for a subgroup to stay beyond 7pm to discuss a new topic or to dive into a previous topic in more detail.  This is also a great opportunity for members to share progress or get help on their pet projects and perhaps even to find collaborators.
