Pay It Forward For Business Christmas Party - DAY 1

Do you have a dream and have always wondered if you could raise money for it by crowdfunding? If so then you want to watch this and apply to do your own the next time.......and Did we mention that Mr Awesome is back.....

On December the 2nd and 3rd our friends at Pay it Forward for business, Your Office Agent and Indiegogo are going to launch 3 crowdfunding campaigns from 3pm to 5pm in 31Ten Lounge at the same time, personally mentored by one of the Indiegogo principals and 3 of the biggest crowdfunding PR firms in LA (Jumpstarterpr, Edwin Stepp and Silver Telegram). We had over 40 applications and we ended up with three brave volunteers, which we will launch live on the 2nd of December. The event will be watched live by 200 people and their price for entry is a gift for homeless in LA or Kids in need. Then on that Monday evening there will be three separate areas to choose from - The giving wall on the 3rd floor of Satellite - the experts giving free help in the knowledge bar in 31Ten Lounge and - the crowdfunding campaigns themsleves in the front bar along with other booths filled with local community givers, who all have free gifts for you.

On Tuesday we will have General Assembly do two 1 hour classes about crowdfunding showcasing these campaigns and what they did right and what they really need to do to be successful from 3pm to 5pm and then have another Pay it Forward event that Tuesday night to continue to watch the progress of the campaigns on the big screen, meet the campaigns and the crowdfunding experts in the back bar and if you just want to party then Mr Awesome will be in the front bar making sure exactly that happens. The wonderful folks at General Assembly have even offered a scholarship for a user experience course as their pay it forward to the local community. This event is a total first and over 1,000 people will be involved. There has never been a crowdsourced crowdfunding campaign done before and to do 3 at the same time is incredible. If crowdfunding is for you or you are even interested in it then don’t miss this. There is also a nice charity element to it and you will not get entry to the afternoon sessions unless you bring a homeless or kids gift. Even 31Ten has changed their Christmas prices to happy hour prices both nights until 8pm so enjoy the Christmas Cheer. The rest is all free and our way to help out and support our Pay it Forward members growing their business.

We are co-promoting this with the Santa Monica Chamber, the LAX Chamber and our friends at the Swedish Chamber, the Satellite, Regus, Cross Campus, Blank Spaces and Tech Happy Hour. We also have some great sponsors giving free gifts so it will be amazing. The sticky pads are back at the Satellite but, this time, they are color coded under free offers, job offers and volunteer / intern offers. It will be the event of the year.

Each event has raised the bar on pure numbers with over 2,000 people networking and giving in our first 4 events. Each networking event has gone deeper into what small and medium sized businesses need with everything from entrepreneur focus to tech focus and each evening event has been Free of Charge because we are all in this together. The venues are excellent with the Satellite teleworking center hosting the pay it forward wall and Lounge 3110 hosting the networking party and knowledge bar.
