New Meetup: LACK 2009 Holiday Party - Skipping Fish Boat School

Announcing a new Meetup for Louisville Area Canoe & Kayak Group!

What: LACK 2009 Holiday Party - Skipping Fish Boat School

When: December 19,[masked]:30 PM

Where:
Skipping Fish Boat School
609 East Washington Street
Louisville, KY 40202

Join us on Saturday, December 19, 2009 from 4:30 PM-7:30 PM for the Louisville Area Canoe and Kayak?s First Annual Holiday Party!

Kimberly Hillerich, with Skipping Fish Boat School, has graciously volunteered to allow us use of her facility located in Butchertown.

Kimberly will be on hand to give us a mini-tour of the facility, check out boats in production mixed in with a little bit of history. We?re hoping to also have a TV setup with kayaking-related videos.
The Courier Journal did a really nice piece on the business over the summer. If I can find a link I will post it below.

I?m really hoping for a nice turnout ? I?d like to see at least 10 ?Yes? RSPVs by midweek to justify the planning. Even if you?ve never kayaked with the group before, I would encourage you to attend. The group itself has not even been around a year, so we?re all still getting acquainted.

The Skipping Fish Boat School is located at:
609 East Washington Street
Louisville, KY 40202

The nearest cross-street is Hancock. By looking at the map, it appears they are very close to the Skate Park. They are across the street from Creation Gardens. The building has large orange double-doors.

I?d like to handle food on a voluntary basis ? If you would like to bring a dish, that would be GREAT ? to keep track, please include what you plan to bring in the comments section of your RSPV ? remember you can edit the comments any time. Later in the week, once we get an idea of how many people to expect and who?s bringing what ? I will take a look and see if I can fill in the gaps to make sure we are covered. Kimberly mentioned that we can use one of the large work-tables and cover it with a table-cloth for food items. Seating will be limited, which is understandable as we will be occupying what is normally the production area.

I want to thank Pedro for coming up with the idea for the party and getting the ball rolling. He is going to work with BBC to see if we can get a keg.

Hopefully that covers all the bases ? if you have any questions, please let me know.
If you would like to know more about the Skipping Fish Boat School, I have linked a couple articles below.
