Descanso Gardens Casual Stroll

Come join us for a casual stroll around one of LA's best kept secrets, a mere 20 minutes from downtown LA..

Descanso Gardens is a wonderful 160 acre botanical garden located in La Canada. Opened in 1953, it is a showcase of a variety of plants, trees, flowers and landscapes. There is a rose garden, lake, oak tree lined pathways, seasonal flowers in bloom, a miniature railroad, Japanese tea house and a new California native garden. Also E. Manchester Boddy's historical home (he started this place!) which is open for perusing.

We can eat in the outdoor cafe and visit the extensive garden shop. The gardens are not huge (not as large as Huntington) and is easily do-able in a couple hours.

Admission is $9 per person. We will meet out front by the admission booths. I'll wait until 1:10pm then we will go inside.
