Recently Farid and Susan moved from Venice location to open a new restaurant in Koreatown. Currently under the name of Green Bee restaurant, but it will be re-named as "Spanish Fly Gastropub" and soft-open as a new restaurant this Saturday, July 14th at 5pm.
I just had a chance to visit the couple at this new place and am very excited for them - much larger space with cool ambiance in the heart of Koreatown near the corner of Wilshire and Western (SW corner, two doors down from the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, across the street from The Wiltern Theater).

I had an opportunity to taste their kimchi bacon sausage. Yummmmmm!! I loved the bun too. Look at the menu below that includes many of the dishes we've enjoyed at Cafe Livre. I bet it will be a new hit in Koreatown!))

Hi everyone,
If you like Korean food and want to learn how to cook it, this one's for you. I've waited this long - more than 4 years! - to find a right instructor. Susan Park, originally from Korea and co-founder of this group together with her husband Farid, owner chef of Cafe Livre, is going to teach us how to cook my favorite Korean food. Yeaaah!
Here's her bio from the cafe/cooking school website http://eatgoodcleanfood.com/our-team/

(http://www.prettycity.com/) Yes, she has eclectic interests including southern style Tiger-Crane kung fu (super low stance), long-board surfing (as big as a raft), art, photography, sweep rowing, volleyball, and can deadlift 180 lbs. She also collects vintage coats, dresses, shoes and purses."
The menu:
-Seafood or Vegetable Soon Du Bu (spicy tofu soup)
-3 kinds of Banchan (small appetizers):
Namul - spinach
Bokkeum - sauteed mushrooms
Quick kimchi- cucumber
-Rice
Class will be 2 1/2 hours long and we'll eat the food made in class.
