Dear members,

There are so many foodie groups in town, but I've been always proud that this is a group of foodies who are also good cooks or wanna-be cooks all eager to learn how to cook.

And the meetup I had at our beloved Surfas kitchen last month added impetus as it was so much fun to cook together - I've decided to start a regular cooking meetup that will happen every month there at Surfas kitchen in Culver City - no cancellation even with low turnout.

Ever since I was given this job at a tech startup two months ago, I've been also thinking of making my own dream come true, and I thought it would be only possible by being true to my passion and desire, and acting on ideas.

I talked with our member John, who's in charge of Surfas kitchen and welcomed my idea.

So.... We'll start in January next year. It could be in many different formats.  I can have chefs teach us, or we can simply cook together like a cooking potluck. We can also do wine or sake or spirit tasting, or tea lessons, etc.  The sky's the limit.))

If you'd like to utilize your skills and talents, please let me know.

Here are my tentative plans:

1. Cajun cooking by Andree. Yay!)

2. Baking lesson by a professional chef

3. Ethiopian cooking lesson.  Yes, I've finally found someone from there who can teach us Ethiopian cooking!!!!))

4. Greek cooking

5. Wine tasting

6. Thai cooking ---- aaaaw, finally, too!!

7. Vietnamese cooking

8. Basic cooking skills

9. Yemenite cooking.  Yep!

10. Tea making

11. Italian cooking

12. Healthy French cooking.  Yup!

.... and many more.  I've got so many ideas and people who are willing to teach.  By securing the kitchen, it will be possible finally and I am sooooooo excited!!

I will invest some money in renting kitchen every month no matter what.  Even if there's only one attendee, which is myself, I'll host without cancellation as I know that continuation is the key to the success. I've had so many solo meetups because of no-shows and last minute cancellations, but

SO WHAT?

I will do it no matter what as nothing can stop me when it comes to food and cooking! ) hehehe

Talk to soon!
