Topic: PhoneGap in a day with Troy Miles

Date: June 1st

Take your PhoneGap skills to the next level.

This is an all day course focused on building good PhoneGap applications. This is not a class for newbies or those wanting to learn programming. It is intended for those who have some programming experience and some knowledge of JavaScript or other curly brace language. This class is hands-on and focused on development. You will write code, not watch slides.

You will leave this course with a confident knowledge of PhoneGap. You will learn JavaScript best practices, how to integrate popular libraries into your apps, using GPS and Google Maps, using HTML templates, and more. All of the sample code used in the class is yours to keep and use.

Troy is a great guy and very knowledgeable about the subject.
Unfortunately, what I thought would be a workshop on using PhoneGap turned out to be an Android development workshop instead.
Since Troy works on a Mac, he was unable to define a workable dev environment for my Win 7 machine. I was unable to build even the initial android app.
What could have been a very valuable session was a non-starter for me. I did pick up some great javascript tips though.

The app that we will build is super cool. It use location, web services, Maps, and more. And you will leave with all of the source code to keep.
