Summary
.NET Core is the re-envisioning of .NET designed for the needs of modern applications. .NET Core is designed with compatibility in mind and knowing a few simple tips and tricks will save you and your customers time when building libraries and applications on it.
In this session, you’ll learn what steps you should follow to make your libraries and apps build and run on .NET Core as well as tips for writing code that will build and run on both .NET Core and the .NET Framework. We will focus on practical examples, tools and guidance that you can use to be productive building on .NET Core.
About the Speaker
Bertrand Le Roy is a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft with more than 30 years of professional experience, and a strong track record of delivering innovation.
He co-founded Orchard CMS (http://www.orchardproject.net/) and ramped up its community, helping its members build more than 100,000 web sites. He authored some of the most popular modules for Orchard, including an entire e-commerce stack & single-handedly built an entirely new CMS based on Node.js, DecentCMS. It was built in a few months, complete with hundreds of tests, and full documentation.
He co-founded a hardware startup, Nwazet, which designed, manufactured, and shipped dozens of products.
Bertrand has shipped core features of the ASP.NET platform, obtained 12 patents for Microsoft & and was an actor in the company's shift towards more open-source. He has written more than 500 blog posts over the last ten years, each reaching more than 10,000 readers.
