Hey Net2! Here are some highlights from SxSW and a "Get-Out-and-Support" notice for Change the Web LA. As usual, scan for the bold, all-cap headlines and read more if interested.

Monday night at SOUTH in Santa Monica will host Change the Web Los Angeles, an event focused on building innovative tools to help people find, share, and take action. Co-hosted with Bloblive LA, the event starts at 7pm (doors open at 6pm).

RSVP via or This event is FREE, so come out and support (...besides SOUTH has some good beers on tap!).

Net2LA member, Rose Shuman, participated in a great panel discussion today called Appfrica: How Web Applications Are Helping Emerging Markets Grow. Rose's no-tech/low-tech perspective and one-step rule ("If a person's hungry, get them fed first.") was especially valuable among a panel of pro-tech Africanist.

Good luck to Rose on her travels over the next few weeks. Also, she is looking for a laptop donation to take to Uganda by Tuesday if anyone has the ability. To contact Rose, email [address removed]. To read more comments on the Appfrica panel, search #afridev on

Our next MeetUp is a DISCOVER session on "Email Marketing, Finding the Right Solution for your Situation." Head to the website to RSVP for Tuesday, March 24. Doors open at 7:30pm, light refreshments will be served, and the DISCOVER session will begin at 7:45pm.

I've attended some great panels at this year's SxSW, and would love to share the knowledge. There was a healthy core conversation called "How LA Has Built A Successful Tech Community" where I met LA's big-tech-community players including Sloane Berrent ( and Andrew Warner (Founder, We attended the Digital LA BBQ after.

Also, the NetSquared New Orleans crowd has been extremely inspiring: planning this trip, raising money, and bringing out 30 members on wrapped bus to Austin. Plans are already in the works for next year...and there is no reason Net2--as a global organization--can't take SxSW by storm.

If you're a Twitter fan (tweeter), search #sxswnola for ALL the Net2NO tweets. The New Orleans Party is Monday night at Lucky Lounge, and should be a great time!

Looking forward to seeing you next week.
