Wireless Communications

Details

We use wireless technology on a daily basis. Want to know the nuts and bolts behind it?

We are privileged to have Lyubov Renselaer, a Telecommunications Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the field, provide us with the theory and practice behind some of the new advanced modem technology designed for use in high data rate wireless communications.

This free seminar will discuss a wide range of topics including:

• Antennas and their propagation fields

• Networking Management

• Frequency Standards

• Satellite based communications networks

• Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output (MIMO)

• Security management

• User authentication

• Service protection and transmission confidentiality

Attention Professional Engineers: An application for .2 CEU credits (equivalent to 2 PDHs) has been applied for and approved. There will be no charge for these credits.

6:30 PM: Network with others over delicious food and soft drinks. We will be having deli heroes: American, Italian and vegetarian plus coleslaw, macaroni and potato salads. So, bring your appetite.

7:00 PM: Introductions, LICN announcements and presentation

Between our normal non-Meetup crowd and those on this Meetup list, we expect to have a good 40 or so people attending, so bring your business cards to share when networking.

More info about the LICN can be found at www.licn.org. Read our blog at http://licn.typepad.com .

*** Date change: This meeting is being held on the second Wednesday of the month. The Long Island Consultants Network (LICN) normally holds its meetings on the first Wednesday of the month. ***
